Our Story

Sitara began with Saurabh Khanna, and a name chosen from the heart. He named the brand after his niece, Sitara, a word that means star. It felt like the right place to start, because the idea was always simple: to help people feel confident, seen, and comfortable in their own light.

Saurabh grew up in Amritsar, surrounded by fabrics, colours, and the skill of craftsmen. Over time, what began as admiration turned into a purpose, to take the richness of Indian textiles and make it feel natural to wear today, not just something saved for special occasions.

Before there was a store, there were exhibitions. Sitara travelled through Numaish in Mumbai and Dubai, and Wedding Asia in Delhi and Ludhiana, meeting people face to face, understanding what they wanted, and building trust slowly, one conversation at a time.

Today, Sitara has a 10,000 sq. ft. retail space in Amritsar, spread across three floors. For many of our clients living overseas, this space matters. It is proof that Sitara is not just an online presence, but a real place with real people, a team that stands behind every order, every fitting, and every promise.

At its heart, Sitara is still guided by the same belief it began with: that clothing should feel personal, easy, and rooted, no matter where in the world it is worn.
